What aspects of your life inspire your fashion choices?
My fashion choices are heavily inspired by the people around me. I think that I’m someone who kind of absorbs and takes that in and makes that my own. And New York especially, is such an expressive city that I think there’s inspiration everywhere. As cheesy as that sounds, I think you just got to look for it all around you.
Why is personal style important to you?
Personal style is really important to me, because I think it is the first way that you tell someone who you are before you even speak to them. It’s kind of like the front lines of how someone gets to know you, and maybe your interests, or how you portray yourself. I think that it's a really important thing to kind of tell the world a little bit about who you are.
As someone who works in the industry, how do you keep fashion fun?
I think that keeping fashion fun is about being unafraid to try new things. I was someone who definitely conformed to certain standards in the past and wanted to wear the same things that everyone else was wearing and shop at all the same stores that everyone else was shopping at. And I think the way to keep it fun and refreshing and exciting is to just not be afraid, to be daring, and to push the boundaries with your own style, and to experiment and see if you can find something new that you end up really liking.
What do you value most in an article of clothing?
I value longevity and versatility the most in an item of clothing. I hope when I buy something that it can live in my wardrobe for years to come, and I think those things go hand in hand because if a piece is truly versatile, then you have so many ways to wear it. And, you’ll want to hold on to it for longer. So those are two things that I look for when shopping for pieces.
How do you define SNIDEL’s style in your opinion?
I think that SNIDEL styles are the perfect canvas to build up from. I am someone who, as I mentioned before, really appreciates versatility in a piece, and a lot of these pieces can be mixed and matched or layered, like the look that I have on right now. And I think that it’s just that the possibilities are endless. So that’s why I love all of these different pieces, and I’m excited to kind of mix and match them and continue wearing them throughout my wardrobe.
